Date: Tomorrow, Nov. 24

Thank you in advance. Let’s make this season de-light-ful together!
Neighborly Holiday Tips
Let’s embrace the festive spirit while ensuring our neighborhood stays safe and neighborly. Here are some essential tips to help us all enjoy a cheerful and secure holiday season:
Mindful Parking and Driving: With holiday gatherings and wintry weather, be thoughtful when parking your vehicles. Make sure streets and driveways stay clear for guests, emergency responders, and snowplows. Please keep sidewalks and neighboring driveways accessible, and drive with extra care, allowing for longer stopping distances on icy or snow-covered roads.
Neighborhood Watch: We live in a very safe neighborhood but the holiday season can be a vulnerable time for break-ins, so stay alert. Look out for any unusual activity and keep an eye on each other’s homes, especially garage doors left open. Together, we can keep our neighborhood safe.
Emergency Contacts Sharing: As we gather and celebrate, consider exchanging emergency contact information with your closest neighbors. It’s always good to know who to call for help in case of an unforeseen holiday hiccup.
Share Some Holiday Cheer: Spread joy by extending a warm greeting or a small act of kindness to those around you. Whether it’s helping someone carry a package or sharing a festive treat, your thoughtfulness can make the season extra special.
By nurturing a spirit of generosity and safety, we can make the winter holidays a magical and secure time for our entire neighborhood.

Support Winter Wildlife: Leave the Leaves!
As winter approaches, simple changes in yard maintenance can make a big difference for local wildlife. Fallen leaves and plant debris provide crucial shelter and protection for many creatures, from butterflies and bumble bees to spiders and beetles.
Tips for a Wildlife-Friendly Yard:
- Leave Leaf Litter: Rake (don’t mulch) leaves into garden beds or around trees to create habitat for butterflies and bees. You can also use the leaves to enrich the soil and suppress weeds.
- Preserve Plant Stems: Many native bees nest in hollow stems, so leave these intact through winter.
- Create Brush Piles: Stack branches in a corner for extra shelter.
Maintaining a wildlife-friendly yard doesn’t mean sacrificing tidiness. Raking leaves into designated areas, preserving certain plant structures, and creating intentional habitat spaces can keep your garden looking neat while supporting local fauna.
By adopting these practices, we can contribute to a healthier ecosystem and enjoy the added benefit of observing diverse wildlife in our own backyards.
