April Update – HOA Meeting, Tree Policy and Share the Road!

HOA Meeting — Tomorrow, Tuesday, April 7 | 6:00–7:30 p.m.
First Free Church, 1375 Carman Rd

We hope you’ll join us! This month’s agenda includes several topics our community has been talking about:

  • Reserve Policy — How we’re planning for long-term expenses and how it will impact dues.
  • Parking Survey Results — 140+ of you responded, and we’re grateful. We’ll share what we heard.
  • Speeding — We’ve heard your concerns and have been working with St. Louis County to explore traffic-calming options for our streets. We’ll share where things stand and what comes next.
  • And more! — Greenspace, communications, and time to answer your questions and hear your thoughts.

A Friendly Reminder: Share the Road This Spring

With warmer weather here, our streets are busier than ever with kids playing, families walking, and neighbors out for evening strolls. Please slow down and stay alert, especially during morning and afternoon hours when children are heading to and from school or playing outside.

Our neighborhood streets belong to all of us — a little extra caution goes a long way toward keeping everyone safe.

Trees in Ridgemont:

Knowing who’s responsible for what can save a lot of confusion after a storm. Here’s a quick summary:

  • Trees on your property — Removal is your responsibility. If a common ground tree falls onto your property, Ridgemont will pay to have it moved back to the common ground, but further removal from the common ground would be at your expense if desired.
  • Trees on common ground — If you spot a dead, damaged, or potentially hazardous tree on Ridgemont’s common ground, please report it to us at [email protected]. A trustee will assess the situation. If the tree poses a risk to property, Ridgemont will cover the cost to remove enough of it to eliminate that risk (commonly referred to as a snag). Cut portions will be left on the common ground to decompose naturally. You can read the full policy anytime at myridgemont.com/tree-removal-policy.
  • Trees in the right-of-way/hellstrip (the strip between the sidewalk and the street) — This land is St. Louis County’s responsibility. If you have a dead or dying tree in this location, we recommend contacting the County directly to determine responsibility and options.

As always, feel free to reach out to the board at [email protected] with any questions, and visit https://www.facebook.com/ridgemontneighbors  or myridgemont.com for neighborhood updates, or join the conversations in our new Facebook Group.

We hope to see you on April 7!

Warm regards,
The Ridgemont Board of Trustees
